About Us

The British Columbia Specific Claims Committee (BCSCC) formed in 2005 to respond collectively and forcefully to recent court rulings, pending legislation, policy and the ever-growing backlog of specific claims submitted to Canada by BC First Nations.

The goals of the BC SCC include:

• Addressing the unique situation of specific claims in BC

• Developing and acting upon a strategy to achieve a fair, just, and timely settlement of specific claims in BC

• Educating and informing BC First Nations about specific claims legislation
